34 Things I’ve Learned This Past Year
How has it been a year already?! If you haven't guessed from the title, it is officially my birthday today! I’m the kind of person that absolutely LOVES my birthday. This year though, has been pretty challenging and with the current situation at hand, it has been hard to be excited about it. I am determined though to not let this get the best of me, which is what brought me to writing this post. I want to bring some positivity and knowledge into this day, SO since I am officially turning 34, I wanted to share with you 34 things that I have learned from this past year.
These are in no particular order and this list can be a little long so let’s jump right into it:
Things don’t go according to plan regardless of how much you actually plan.
Taking trips with good friends is great for the soul.
Never take your health for granted.
Reach out to friends. Make sure they are doing ok.
It’s ok to do nothing some days. Go on and Netflix on the couch.
Busy doesn’t mean having your shit together.
Losing my job was a blessing in disguise.
Reading a little bit every day challenges the mind.
Move your body everyday.
Drinking pre-workout from a stemless wine glass is fun. Try it sometime.
Fitness routines should be stress free.
“Free” days are the best days!
Baggy t-shirts and bike shorts are life! (hello, to my 90s childhood)
Drinking water first thing when waking up is a habit I never knew I needed.
Cold water on the face helps you wake up.
Stop being a slave to the fitness tracker.
The best thinking is done on long walks.
Family time is precious.
Being present allows for greater happiness.
Being consistent gets you results.
People who said you’ll never be friends with the people you were friends with in high school were 1000% wrong.
Sleep is important! Make it a priority.
Nutritious foods are good for the body, but cookies are good for the soul. Find that balance and stop feeling guilty about it.
Oat milk makes for amazing morning coffee.
Adding cinnamon or pumpkin spice to your frother ups your coffee game.
Bullet journals keep you on track and unleash creativity you though was lost.
It’s ok to feel sadness or loss over friendships that no longer serve you.
People who accept your way of living are YOUR people. Never let them go.
Comparison is poison.
Mute people. It is the best thing ever.
Admitting your wrong isn’t a sign of weakness or inferiority.
Indoor snowboarding is really cool.
Walk around barefoot more.
Accepting and being ok with the fact that I am forever changing- physically, mentally, emotionally.
Excited to see what 34 has in store for me.🤍
